I don’t know about you, but winter plays havoc with my skin. Cold air outside, dry warm air from heating, then long hot showers are always guaranteed to make my skin a dry, blotchy mess. It’s not a good look.
So what can you do to help protect your skin from all this?
Moisturise! Choose a thick cream that isn’t petroleum based to help ‘seal and heal’ your skin. This will help protect your skin while still allowing it to breathe, but importantly won’t let precious moisture escape.
This Hemp Body Butter from The Body Shop will make sure that your skin gets the hydration it needs for 24 hours.
Drink water! I know, it’s almost too simple isn’t it? In winter it can be so easy to skip the water for hot cups of tea or coffee, but try to make sure you drink at least 2 litres of water. If you still need warmth, try warm tea with added lemon.
Get oily! Trust me on this one, Bio-Oil is one of the best skin care tricks I have ever learnt. I have slightly oily skin so I spent most of my life avoiding oily products like the plague, and I would never, NEVER have considered a product like Bio-Oil if I hadn’t been told about it. It’s the best way of making your skin super hydrated and glowing quickly. I apply a small amount to my face every night & in the morning my skin feels soft, smooth & lovely. It’s fab!
